On Thursday, June 5, I introduced a new feature on Darcy’s Dime called Six Words Saturdays. As indicated, I borrowed the idea from the blog ShowMyFace. If you follow the link button posted below or click on the hyperlink, you can see some of the great six words stories people have shared on ShowMyFace. She’s got a cute one today, so check her out. In the meantime, every Saturday, look for a new post from me on Darcy’s Dime telling a story in six words. Here’s my story today.
Fishing derby today. Great family fun.
You might note that fishing has figured in both of my first Six Words Saturdays posts. That’s because fishing is a big deal in my house. Jones goes fishing whenever he gets the opportunity. Today is his fishing club’s 17th annual fishing derby. This annual event is open to the community and meant to introduce children to the art of fishing. He’ll be out there all day and I will be there most of the day – registering children, serving hot dogs, being an all-around dogsbody. It’s a lot of fun but I’ll be exhausted by the end of the day.
I asked Jones for his story for today. Here’s what he said. Great day for a fishing derby! He’s been checking the weather all week, gathering in supplies, and checking tackle. He’s as excited as the children that will show up today.
So – what’s your story? I’d love to hear it – and since you can only use six – every words counts!
