My niece is getting married next Saturday so I’ve got to get the house ready. Jenna and her daughter Daisy; Jay and wife, Cathy and their adorable little girls, Lovie and Rosie, are making the trip home, and of course, I expect them to stay with us. I need to clean the house, get the guest rooms ready, and have Jones bring Lovie’s toddler bed down from the attic. Plus, we’re hosting the wedding breakfast on Sunday morning – the day after the wedding.
Jones is excited about the kids and grandkids coming to visit, but the wedding breakfast…not so much. “Why don’t we all just go to a restaurant? No dishes to wash. No fuss. No mess.”
“It won’t be as much fun,” I said. “Besides, it’ll be a great way to spend time with the family. The rush-rush of the wedding will be over and we can just relax and visit.”
I love parties; any excuse to throw one will do. Khrissy’s wedding breakfast is my excuse! So — Cleaning house: Guests coming on Wednesday is my six words Saturday story: What’s yours? I’d love to hear it but keep it brief. Since you can only you six, every word counts.
